The Madison Desert Club luxury community is located in La Quinta, California, near Palm Springs Golf Club, an 856-square-meter golf club developed by Discovery Land, known for its expensive desert homes and Tom Fazio-designed golf courses.
The reticulated roof from Alusion™ (aluminum foam), a division of Cymat Technologies, an innovative materials technology company based in Toronto, Canada, became the mansion’s signature design. It greatly reduces but does not completely block the desert sunlight in California, allowing people to feel the sun while being fully shaded. The 6 independent cabins in the building, including the main living area in the center, are also connected in series by this semi-shading roof.
The rear of the main house leads to the pool and the desert, and its partitions use almost frameless electric glass doors, which perfectly mirror the desert landscape and effectively reduce the wastage of indoor energy.
